Alexandre “Alex” Freire is a highly experienced and internationally trained Osteopathic Manual Therapist based in Calgary, Alberta. With over 30 years of dedicated clinical practice, Alex has built a reputation for compassionate, effective, and holistic care across all age groups — from infants to seniors.

Alex’s philosophy as a therapist is rooted in treating the whole person, not just symptoms, by understanding how the body’s structure, movement, and nervous system interrelate. This approach supports natural healing, improved function, and long‑term wellness..

• Graduated in Physiotherapy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUC‑Campinas) in Brazil. 
• Completed Osteopathy training at the Madrid School of Osteopathy (EOM) and earned a Diploma in Osteopathy from the Scientific European Federation of Osteopaths (SEFO). 
• Additional advanced studies at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) and A.T. Still University (ATSU) in the United States. 
• Advanced training in Functional Orthopedics, Traumatology, and Global Postural Re‑education (RPG‑Souchard). 

Alex is also a longstanding educator in osteopathy, having served on the faculty of the Madrid School of Osteopathy since 2003 and teaching at the Canadian Institute of Osteopathic Therapy (CIOT) since 2016.

Alex has been actively involved in advancing osteopathic practice and standards, including roles such as:

• Past President of the Alberta Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapists (AAOMT). 
• Vice‑President and Board Member of the Canadian Federation of Osteopaths (CFO). 

He is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele.
