Clinic FAQs

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy (or osteopathic manual therapy) is a holistic, hands‑on approach that focuses on the body’s structure and function as a whole, encouraging mobility, circulation, and natural healing without drugs or surgery. Osteopathy can improve joint motion, relieve muscle tension, reduce pain, and support overall wellness.

Is osteopathy painful?

Most patients find osteopathic techniques gentle and comfortable. Practitioners use subtle, precise hand movements to ease tension and restore mobility. You may feel relief and relaxation during and after treatment.

What conditions can osteopathy help with?

Osteopathy is effective for a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Back, neck, and joint pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sports injuries and repetitive strain
  • Postural dysfunction
  • Chronic stiffness and mobility issues
  • Tension‑related discomfort

How many sessions will I need?

Treatment plans vary depending on factors such as your condition’s severity, history, and how your body responds. Many patients notice improvements within a few sessions, with tailored plans to support progress and long‑term wellness.

What should I wear for treatment?

Wear comfortable, loose‑fitting clothing that allows for ease of movement. Typical recommendations include a t‑shirt and shorts or equivalent activewear.

Is osteopathy covered by insurance?

Many extended health benefit plans in Canada include coverage for osteopathic manual therapy. Check with your provider to confirm your specific coverage.
